THE MIRACLE OF BEING HUMAN
The finite encompasses the infinite. The infinite is inside; the finite is outside."
We have created many limitations for ourselves through which we see. We see a human being not as a human being, but for what he wears, or what he speaks, or what he does. But that is not a human being. A human being is this thing that was brought into this world, simple elements brought together. Dirt was brought together – earth, water, fire, air. All these elements are brought together – to form the biggest miracle of them all. You cannot have a bigger miracle than that.
People ask for a miracle; people ask for a sign. The biggest sign is going on inside of you – the breath of life, consciousness, the heart, the incredible prevalent desire to be content. And this is a miracle. Elements that are nothing all combine to make this finite body. But in the middle of the finite is installed the infinite. And that is the miracle. Why? If somebody told you that the infinite has encompassed the finite, you would say, "That makes sense." But the way it was done is the other way around. The finite encompasses the infinite. The infinite is inside; the finite is outside.
And what do we have? We have a human being. We have a being that will go through all the perils of life seeking explanation after explanation. We have a being that would look for what is bad and what is right, what is wrong and what is good. And all the time, the real good is right inside. He will look for his God on the outside, but his God is residing right here, inside. He will look for his destination over there, when the destination is right here. He will look for the holy places on top of the mountains and across the rivers, when the holiest place is right here. He will search in all the wrong places, when the most right place is right here.
